New Organizational Reforms and Personnel Changes at Yamaha Motor
IWATA, July 14, 2020 - Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) has resolved to implement the following organizational reforms and personnel changes, effective Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
■ Organizational Reforms
1. Corporate Planning & Finance Center
The Corporate Planning & Finance Center will be reorganized for the purpose of concentrating management resources on strategic planning and highly specialized work toward the realization of reforms in group management infrastructure.
- The Finance & Accounting Division/Business Management Division have been integrated into the Finance & Accounting Division, this includes the formulation of medium-term plans and budget guidelines, the formulation and execution of financial strategies, and governance functions.
Basic operations such as management accounting, financing and funding are to be transferred and integrated at the Yamaha Motor Biz Partner Co., Ltd. The Business Management Division will therefore be dissolved, and its functions spread among other organizations.
2. Advanced Technology Center
The Advanced Technology Center will be reorganized for the purpose of strengthening the promotion of growth strategies, strengthening mobility service business promotion systems, and for planning of company-wide technology strategies and strengthening management functions of the Advanced Technology Center and Mobility Technology Center.
- Technology Administration Group directly under the Advanced Technology Center will be reorganized as the Technology Planning Division.
- The Mobility Service Business Division of the New Venture Business Development Section will be reorganized as the Mobility Service Business Section.
The India & Africa Division has been newly established under this.
- Integration of the business search functions of the New Venture Business Development Section and the M&A functions of the Corporate Planning & Finance Center are to be integrated, and a newly established Business Development Division is to be formed in the New Venture Business Development Section. The Planning Division will therefore be dissolved, and its functions spread among other organizations.
3. Quality Assurance Center
The Quality Assurance Center will be reorganized for the purpose of strengthening the planning and supervision functions of the legal compliance system for motorcycles.
- The supervision and completion inspection functions of the Quality Planning Division for the Motorcycle Quality Assurance Section and the functions of the Regulation & Certification Division for the PF Model Unit are to be integrated, and the Regulation Quality Assurance Division for the Motorcycle Quality Assurance Section has been newly established. The Regulation & Certification Division of the Engineering Promotion Section within the PF Model Unit will therefore be dissolved, and its functions spread among other organizations.
