Yamaha Motor Announces Production Adjustments and Temporary Business Closure in Response to COVID-19
IWATA, April 24, 2020 - Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) announced today that it will temporarily close all business locations, factories, and offices in Japan for five days, from May 18 to 22. The only exceptions to this temporary closure are the Hamamatsu Robotics Building and the Miyakoda Building, two robotics-related facilities based in Kita Ward, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Additionally, two outboard motor manufacturing facilities—the Fukuroi Minami Factory in Fukuroi and Yamaha Kumamoto Products Co., Ltd. in Yatsushiro—will carry out production adjustments from June 1 to 15.
These closures follow Yamaha Motor’s temporary suspension of production at motorcycle- and outboard motor-related factories, as announced on April 9.
