Yamaha Motor Establishes and Expands Robotics Business in Suzhou, China - Strengthening sales and service system, aiming for further business expansion -

IWATA, June 24, 2021 - Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) is pleased to announce that China based Yamaha Motor IM (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (YIMS), will have its headquarters relocated to a new office building in the same Suzhou Industrial Park. Personnel will be increased, and a new showroom will be set up in the same premise to showcase a wide range of products in the robotics business. The company was established in 2013 and provides sales and servicing of surface mounters and industrial robots. Including the new Shenzhen office and showroom that started operation last year, the Company aims to expand its business in the Chinese market with more comprehensive facilities and environments.

The new office building has a total floor area of approximately 5,000 m², and in addition to being able to carry out quick and accurate promotions in the offices and showrooms of each business division, it will also have facilities where seminars and training can be held for both new and existing users. Through these educational based initiatives, YIMS aims to upgrade the sales and service skills of local distributors, creating a cycle which generates more robust service provision. Furthermore, the company will promote synergies with Yamaha Robotics Holdings Co., Ltd. (YRH)* mainstay semiconductor-related business by consolidating their local office.

This upgrade initiative to an overseas office is part of the “ART for Human Possibilities, Advancing Robotics,” one aspect of Yamaha Motor's long-term vision. In the robotics field, the Company is working to build a structure which can quickly deliver advanced total solutions based on the YAMAHA ONE STOP SMART SOLUTION concept, including semiconductor post-processing, which is one of YRH’s strong points.
