Yamaha Motor to Exhibit at Japan Fair held with TICAD7 - Showcasing Compact Water Purification System, Outboard Motors, and Industrial-Use Unmanned Helicopters -

IWATA, July 30, 2019 - Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) announced today that it will participate in the Japan Fair “Japan-Africa Business Forum & Expo,” to be held from August 28 to 30 at the Pacifico Yokohama in Yokohama City, Kanagawa, Japan. Hosted by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the Fair will be held alongside the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7).

The booth aims to promote Yamaha Motor's business activities and new initiatives to representatives of many African countries, and - from an ESG perspective - presents the Company’s African business through three themes: clean water supply, the “blue economy,” and disaster readiness. The main products on display will be a scale model of the Yamaha Clean Water Supply System compact water purification system, outboard motors and scale models of boats in use in Africa, industrial-use unmanned helicopters, and motorcycles. The narrative panels and videos provided will each showcase the benefits of the Company’s products across a wide range of fields.

Yamaha Motor has been active in developing the African market since the 1960s, and - through partnerships with local distributors - currently operates in 52 African countries. Yamaha Motor builds its business oriented toward locally-focused solutions, and carries out sales and service for products including motorcycles, outboard motors, boats, generators, and compact water purification systems. With its rapidly-increasing population and rising middle class, the African market has high growth potential. Yamaha Motor recognizes the value of committing to this market, and aims to continue our active business expansion in Africa.

* First held in 1993, the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) is hosted by the Japanese Government in conjunction with the United Nations, the United Nations Development Programme, the African Union Commission, and the World Bank.
